The official working and safety language on all MSC ships is English. It is also the language used by Safety authorities in all countries. All safety and information notices are only in English.
Everyone on board has a Career Path – a plan for your future. Your Career Path shows the training, professional and language skills you need to possess to be promoted. Additional information can be obtained from the HR Officer on board.
MSC Cruises appreciates the work performed by the crew members, and the Company knows how important it is to enjoy your free time. A calendar of crew activities is posted regularly in crew areas.
We have wireless internet service in all crew areas for anyone using computers and smartphones.
We also have added a Training & Development channel for Crew in-cabin TV on some ship classes.

MSC Cruises is not only an amazing company but most of all a fantastic place to be able to achieve experience, grow and realise your dreams. I started with MSC almost 11 years ago and I was only 18 years old as a hotel cleaner in the housekeeping department, but I had a very continuous evolution and with the support of my managers and their teachings, I grew as cabin steward and then Yacht Club Junior Butler. Today I’m standing as a Butler and training to be a senior. I’m grateful for the MSC Company and Oceangoers agency for the chance that I was given 11 years ago which has helped me become financially stable and made me an owner of my own house. After 10 years in hotel industry, working for some 5 star hotels and Royal Caribbean Cruise line as a chef de partie. I joined MSC Meraviglia as 1st Cook in 2019. My determination and hardwork made me grow up in my MSC career. In MSC I feel at home and I feel valued. I never felt anything but love and support, that’s why I’ve stayed here. I leave home to go to work on the ocean but when I get here, I feel like I’m home. Working for MSC is different to anything I have done before. It has created a vision to my life and that is to become the youngest executive chef in the company.
My experience with Oceangoers has been one of a kind. As one of the company’s value is ‘caring’, they in fact took great care of me ad showed me a lot of passion in making me achieve my goal. All I need to do first of all, To say a Big Thanks to the agency Oceangoers Ltd with their awesome staffs. I applied as Assistant Waiter and I got an answer for my interview within 3 days. I didn’t expect that the procedure will go so fast. My interview went well and after this, I applied for my STCW course and do all my medical report. All went so fast I never imagine I will get my embarkation date after one month of my interview. And finally I’m on board with MSC Company (MSC Meraviglia).
